THE COBLE FAMILY
BIO

Southern Gospel Music has been blessed with many family groups throughout its history. There has always been something special when a family group takes the stage. To watch them work together in the ministry and to hear the family harmonies always leaves excitement in the air.

Another family has come on the scene bringing with them a big dose of talent on the musical end, along with that familiar sound of close family harmony. This family is none other than The Coble Family.

Meet the Family
Paul brings a lot to The Coble Family with his love for ministry and music. He uses what God has given him to the fullest from writing songs, playing the piano, singing lead and baritone and running sound. Paul has received several nominations throughout the years as Male Vocalist of the Year and Musician of the Year in the Southern Gospel Music Association of Texas (SGMA). Four of the songs Paul has written received Song of the Year: A Little Bit Closer (2000), Standing on top of the Mountain (2002), He Gave His All (2003) and The Answer is Christ (2006) which he co-wrote with Lucy.

Rhonda plays the drums, sings alto and is instrumental in the group's management. She has desired to share Christ with all who will listen from the time she was very young. She began singing with her immediate family in 1985 and immediately fell in love with traveling and bringing the Word through song in a variety of venues. This is when her life-long goals changed to ministry. She had always wanted to play the drums and finally seized the opportunity to learn in January of 1988. In 1994, Rhonda helped to start The Coble Family with her husband Paul and two other extended family members. The SGMA of Texas members awarded Rhonda with Musician of the Year in 2004.

Lucy is the lead singer of The Coble Family. She has written numerous songs and has begun speaking in youth services. Lucy plays numerous instruments and is endeavoring to further her studies in music. Her heart is to see a lost soul saved, the hurting comforted and to be a blessing wherever a blessing is needed. She has received numerous awards from the SGMA of Texas for Youth Musician of the Year and Youth Vocalist of the Year. She shares the honor with Paul for the song they wrote in 2006, The Answer is Christ.

ChristA Rose plays the bass guitar and the harmonicas along with singing the alto harmonies. She enjoys running sound and managing the product table. ChristA loves singing, but mostly would prefer to create the music behind the songs. She also has received numerous awards as Youth Female Vocalist and Youth Musician of the Year in the SGMA of Texas. ChristA has picked up a new love for photography and looks for ways to capture an image in very captivating ways.

Paul and Rhonda began the ministry of The Coble Family in 1994 after a two-year period as music directors. Their travels took them many miles throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 1997, Lucy and ChristA joined their parents on stage. In 1999, they began traveling into Louisiana and Mississippi. Since 2000, they have toured much of the East Coast, seeing lives changed by the power of God.

The Coble Family is known for the excitement that they bring to the stage night after night. When the family begins playing, people are astonished to watch the girls play several different instruments, one song after another. When talking with any member of the family, you will find that they are down home with a heart for people, and yet very serious about their calling to minister through song.

The Coble Family received the Natalie Dawn Smith Love Award for their humanitarian effort to others. They also won first place in the Group Division of the Southern Gospel News Music Convention in Smyrna, Tennessee.
